Bike World Explores Myanmar (BWEM)

A recommendation from founding Hash Member, Graeme D.:

Bike World Explores Myanmar (BWEM) specializes in organizing customised cycling, biking & trekking tours to most parts of Myanmar. Cycling tours can either be ridden using touring bikes or mountain bikes or a combination of both. Bike rental through Bike World Myanmar can be included in the package or cyclists can use their own bike.

Typical cycling & trekking tours either commence in Yangon, Bagan, Mandalay or Heho, however if a different starting point is desired a tour can be discussed. Overnight accommodation is normally arranged using a hotel or inn; tents can also be organized in some areas. Cycling tours can be either completely done on bike or a vehicle can be arranged to follow to carry provisions and cyclists wanting a rest. BWEM can also arrange for a tour leader to accompany the group either on bike or in the accompanying vehicle. All tour leaders are well qualified as bike cyclists and tour leaders having gained extensive firsthand knowledge of cycling the various routes in Myanmar. For those wanting to explore Myanmar on foot BWEM can organize an appropriate guide well versed in hiking in Myanmar.

Extra activities like fishing and bird watching can be included and even those wanting to plough a paddy field, using a team of buffalo, can be accommodated.

All BWEM guides speak their native language as well as English; some guides also speak French & German.

See their website for more details.

Mountain Biking in Georgia

This is a new mountain bike guiding and touring service in the Republic of Georgia. 'Georiders' offers mountain bike guided trips into the legendary Caucasus mountains. Georgia is a small country of only 4 million inhabitants and yet boasts some of the most ancient history on earth, the most diverse natural environment (in the top 12 biodiversity hotspots in the world), and bigger, grander mountains than the Alps with peaks above 5000m. Our guides are Georgian. They have spent years scouring the terrain to discover the best routes, combining fine mountain biking with the highlights of cultural travel experiences and legendary Georgian hospitality. What drives us is the dream of the perfect ride and we think that ride exists here, in Georgia. If you are interesting in receiving more information please don't hesitate to visit the website.

Thanks! Andy Welch and David Chokheli of Georiders

Tour de Asia Bicycle Touring in Thailand

• New and Improved Tour de Thailand Jerseys Coming Soon - we have some great new Tour de Thailand jerseys for this year that we think are a big improvement over our already nice jerseys to include limited logos on the front of the jersey (most on back pockets), Thai elephant and Thai designs (Naga Heads) on jersey, and 3/4 length invisible zipper this year. Of course, one of the best improvements over last year's jersey is that we have included the BHHB logo. With these improvements there was an increase in cost so the new jerseys will be 900 baht. We are pre-selling them from now until their arrival (planned for AGM) for only 700 baht and we will have a sketch and possibly a sample jersey at this weekend's hash.

www.tourdethailand.com has had a major face lift. Please take a few moments to check out our new site and if you haven't already signed up for our "Not Too Often Newsletter", please do so. If you have any comments or suggestions, please feel free to contribute.

• Tour De Asia would like to announce the official launch of its newest subsidiary, Hua Hin Bike Tours. Check out their website!
